Research Trip
Went on a fascinating research trip yesterday. If you're local, I'm sorry to say it was the last day.
The exhibit was from The Higgins Armory Museum and featured swords from all over the world. The Higgins link is here: http://www.higgins.org/
This was taking place in The Littleton Historical Museum (link above). They had swords with hilts like I've posted before here, and diagrams, and ceremonial swords with bells and serrated boarding swords for navies. (Ok, I was wrenched from the REM state this am by my alarm and not fully functional yet...which is why I'm writing this instead of working on Enchanted No More).
Bottom line: Research outings are important.
May you enjoy wherever you go today.

The past several years, Boskone (Friday - Sunday Presidents' Day weekend) and Arisia (generally Martin Luther King Day weekend, Fri-Monday) which both will be in the Westin Waterfront Hotel in Boston next year, have been having Higgins Armory demos. Higggins Armory itself is in the central part of Worcester, 40 miles west of Boston (I-90 = Massachusetts Turnpike, in Massachusetts-- west, and follow the signs to Worcester from there--politics caused the Mass Pike to take a southerly excursion bypassing more direct access to Worcester...).
Readercon, in Burlington, doesn't have a Higgins demo, but the weather is a lot nicer in July than in the winter!
It is a wonderful place, and now I know another place to visit whenever I manage to go to Boston.
Thanks!
Robin
