Harry Potter and Inches (v. Wordcount)

I am still working on combining my scenes and chapters and am occasionally making my daily wordcount :( I'm not used to writing in Courier New anymore, and it seems clunky (ok, it's always seemed clunky, I'd just gotten used to it).

Now I'm beginning to think I'm in a Harry Potter book, you know "Prof So-And-So Assigned us EIGHT INCHES on Keepers of the Flame...." as each chapter creeps down the pages in Courier New...

I'm concerned about hooks, too. I'm writing shorter chapters now, and sometimes it's hard to find good chapter hooks, which I think are essential in a book.

May you write many inches today -- too many to measure!
Robin
