Support Groups

You MUST have other writers as support groups. And make sure they ARE supportive and not negative. I've found that a "bad" thing said to me can hang around for years while a compliment disappears in the next ten minutes.

All right, artists of any type will help (my next door neighbor does art quilts/hangings), but writers will GET what you mean when you say out of sequence or the transition is rough or the black moment needs to be deepened.

You can burble on for hours and their eyes won't glaze over.

So, outside attending conferences for editors and agents to see your work, get there just for the warm (or frenzied) fuzzies.

That's my advice for the day. May you enjoy all your friends today.
Robin
