Running Late

Got up at 5:45 am and I am still running late. I read email instead of doing the blog. I think I want to get current with a couple of my loops...just to have my name out there...

I feel as if I've been around long enough that I'm being forgotten. So I'll be thinking of other ways (probably expensive), to promote myself.

If you all have ideas about what you like to see or where you pick up info on new authors/books you might like to read, just let me know.

May you have a wonderful day and never get behind.
Robin

There are several authors on the Mobile Read forums. I have read books I had not previously considered from authors I found there.

I read some of the review blogs i.e. Dear Author, Book Smugglers etc. and find new authors from those blogs.

Contests get people to try authors they haven't done before. The website I review for also does virtual signings when the author can't really get around all over the place to do signings. You might want to explore that. The website is www.nightowlromance.com. We get a lot of visitors to the site. I am a big fan of your Heart series and I recommend it to a lot of people.

I am on twitter. I do one bit a day... I'll consider Mobile Read, and Night Owl has been very good to me, so I need to pay more attention to them.

Thanks,
Robin

Nalini Singh loves your work, I asked about you on her blog and she thinks you and Castle are great, and would love to do an anthology with you ladies... Pound your agent over the head and see about getting the ball rolling.

I think more novellas with more 'brand' name authors is something that will help you a great deal. Also, CT Clamp did a round robin with other authors where they created a chapter, posted it on their blogs and passed it on to the next author to do as they will with it. Do you have a circle of authors you could do that with?

The freebies on the sites help. Sharon Lee posted 2 books on line, a chapter a week. Kim Harrison did the same. These books were later sold, but the process of watching an author work, and the reader thinking they were getting something for nothing (with forums to discuss and analyze) did wonders towards getting people in the door.

Respond to other authors blogs. Daily. Pick a list of authors (Singh, Castle are musts) and post post post. Get their readership seeing your name!

BTW Jayne Castle said she'd be interested in doing an anthology with you and Nalini on forums when I asked her too.

So if all three ladies are intersted... Talk to them, come up with an idea and get that agent of yours to earn his/her fee! :)

Maybe get Linnea Sinclair interested too ( I don't personally like her work, but she is considered future fantasy)

Excellent ideas. I'll talk to my agent about Nalini and Jayne. Nalini and I have the same agent.

As for the free work. That might happen, too, as I have a new idea tugging at my mind. However I don't update my own site, and monthly is sometimes as quickly as I can do it. Not sure I can write a chapter a week on something new when I have stacked book contracts like I do now.

But these are excellent ideas.
