Questions for my blog readers

Ok, I want to maximize the readership of this blog so I have a couple of questions:

Is every day too often? Would weekly or biweekly (either 2ce a week or once every 2 weeks, whatever) be too much. Do you skip because it feels like a chore?

If you skip, do you go back and read?

Are the blogs too long?

Am I too repetitious?

Am I too professional?

Too unprofessional?

Now, stuff not about me.

When do you usually read the blog during the day?

Are you on a blogroller?

Many thanks,
May you be Just Right in your writing today.
Robin

I read daily, and find you're often insightful and worthy of spending my time looking you up!

I enjoy your daily blogs! I don't read them every day, but if I skip, I go back and read them. I don't read many blogs on the weekends because I do most of my blog reading during the day job. I like your blogging voice -professional, yet personable. I read through Bloglines, which I also use to generate the blogroll on my own blog. Keep up the good work!

Is every day too often?

Absolutely not! My daily blog sites replace the morning paper. I get cranky when I don't get my fix.

Would weekly or biweekly (either 2ce a week or once every 2 weeks, whatever) be too much. Do you skip because it feels like a chore?

If I skip a day it is more because that day was busy and not because it is a chore of any kind. Regarding cutting down the amount of blogs...well, I like daily. I suppose I could survive with 2x per week. Once a week I would be in serious withdrawal. Once every two weeks? Expect to start receiving private emails as BRT (blog replacement therapy.)

If you skip, do you go back and read?

Definitely. I go back and read whatever I missed.

Are the blogs too long?

Not for me. I think you do a good job of keeping them concise and on track.

Am I too repetitious?

Actually...no. I don't find them repetitious because while you may have discussed something like book covers or galleys...each time you are discussing it in regards to a different book. And things change. Your career is not static therefore your insights regarding your career are not static. And it is not always necessary to be the great font of information. I enjoy the little tidbits of "writer's life" just as much as your more professional insights. Which brings us to....

Am I too professional?

Wow! Where did this come from? No.

Too unprofessional?

Robin, you don't yell at me when I have differing opinions about your beloved characters. You take my teasing with good humor. AND you haven't told me to "statta zitto" which my grandma would have done a million times were she in your shoes. So no, you are always exceedingly professional, IMO. You are an excellent role model for graciousness to writers and humanity in general.

Now, stuff not about me.

When do you usually read the blog during the day?

Usually late mornings EST.

Are you on a blogroller?

Since I have no idea what a blogroller might be, I assume the answer is "no."

Anything else?

Nice to see I am not the only one who does not know what a blogroller is.

Right now I am home on disability but since I will probably be going back in the next month or so, I currently read your blog everyday. Once I go back to work I will definitely be checking it several times a week. I'm EST so now read it in the morning, after work would be in the evenings.

Yes I would go back and read whatever I missed.

I enjoy your blogs. I like the way you blend writing hints (I have no interest in writing, but find your perspective interesting.)

Please don't change it, I love to read your blog. Daily is not too much. If I miss a day, I go back and read the ones I missed first, then the most recent. Your blogs are professional, but I find that a relief from some which have a problem with TMI. You give enough personal info to give perspective to the points you are trying to make.Your insights on writing are always interesting, even if I don't agree with them. It's like you have said: You can learn something from what doesn't work for you as well as the things that do. Keep it up, please!

I read your blog once a day. If I'm busy, I'll read it every second day. If there's a blog I find really insightful, I'll re-read it. Sometimes, I'll even go back several months to re-read blogs!

I generally read all your blogs. I like your writing style and how you stick to writing and the business of selling your work.

I usually read it late evening.

Well, thanks, folks! This helps me get a handle on everything (esp with the day job going away and re-establishing a writing schedule). It will continue to be daily, those who wish to be anon, are great, those who lurk are great. I have no problems with either of those things since I do them too.

Thanks again,
Robin

Hi Robin!
Daily posts work for me, but whatever works for you works for me. *g*

I don't skip, but I do use a blog reader-- Google Reader. If I feel I have something to say, then I comment. I realize I'm not a frequent commenter, but I am a frequent reader-- reading blogs is part of my daily routines.

The length and content of your posts also work for me. I'm a writer, and I appreciate hearing about the struggles and joys of a professional author.

I really love how you sign your posts with a wish for the reader. It's so thoughtful and generous.

Cheers!

I read your blog daily. I love your books and enjoy seeing behind the scenes.

I also like the way you talk about writing. Sometimes you have given me some great ideas to use with my students.

I get two for the price of one blog.;)

Hi Robin~
Love the blog. I read it several times a week, and if I miss a few days I do catch up on entries. Your blog and your books have helped my writing. As I read Guardian of Honor, I turned to my husband and told him I hoped I could write such a pompous ass as Reynauldus! You've raised my bar--thanks!

Daily is good, as is the tone you set. If I miss, I go back and read which is easy to do as I use Bloglines to read your feed. Generally, I check my feeds in the morning and evening, so whenever it shows up is when it gets read.

First thing in the morning and late in the evening to see what others have to say and your answer to them.
I love extra notes and information on the books, especially the customs and life in Celta. Anything that helps to five more life to the imagination.
Interesting too to read about the writers point of view since I just like to read and have no ambition to be a writer!! Thanks
