My best friend has been doing all the characteristics but still hasn't been published. She's had great reviews from the editors she's submitted to but they just can't find a niche to fit her series in.
Oh, man, I know that one! I wrote for 8-9 years before I got published and HeartMate made the rounds, was rejected by the only publisher doing futuristic/fantasies at the time.
