Heart Search

In a show of complete editorial speed, my editor has finished reading Heart Search. She had a comment about a subplot which I thought about and will fix, but the book has gone into production, i.e. submitted to the copy editor.

Whew.

May you be pleased with your team today.

So, this has very little to do with Heart Search...tho I am thrilled cause that means it is closer to getting into my hands.

So, it is 11:15 and I am up wondering about the parents of one of the kitten in heart journey (when i read this feel just a little nutty). I absolutely adore your books...In fact looking at your blog and all the writers on the right are most of my favs with you!
Anyway...quoting you quoting the cat, " 'I am a Fam. My sire is Zanth. My Dam is Drina, the Blackthorn Fam.' " Am I reading this right...the kitten is the Daughter of Zanth and Drina (Drina who is the daughter of Zanth)?

Thank you!! I just purchased the first five of the series and Heart Journey...read the middle 3 LOL...I've read all five in a little over a week and a half...excellent reading!

Lydia, Well )($*@)$&(*$). Obviously I forgot that I made Drina the daughter of Zanth. Urgh!

Better make a note of it...or maybe...hmmmm...maybe....the kitten lied. Yes, the kitten lied. She probably lied to D'Ash, too. Or Zanth lied...well, ONE of them LIED!

Lydia & Robin,

In the scene in question Saratina Cherry's Fam is introducing herself to Raz for the first time and says 'I am a Fam. My sire is Zanth. My Dam is Drina, the Blackthorn Fam.' She is pure white with a pink nose and chartruese eyes.

What I picture happening here is the following scenario:

The Kitten is obviously lying. She knows very well who her sire and dam are, but as the offspring of Drina the foremost "Queen of the Universe Fam" she has been exposed to only the best and is very "blue-blooded" She even tells Raz to give her furrabeast bites just because she is beautiful. Taking after her mother in every way this new young fam sees no reason not to embellish her bloodlines by naming Zanth as her sire.

Knowing all along she is the result of a late winters night of carousing between....................Drina and PINKY!!!!!!!!!

Lol. In my imagination that is how I've resolved to belive it happened. Drina fell for Pinky's charms and had a litter of one white female kitten who is the firts "Princess of the Universe Fam."

P.S. That kitten never has a name anywhere in the book....what should we call her?!

I submit Padus, Capuli and Rufa for consideration. They are all cherry names and short enough for a little white kitten.

I like Rufa because it makes me think of Rufio from Hook.

Rufa sounds wonderful. I'll make a note of it. See tonight's posting re: researching names.

I never was notified that you responded. I'm so happy that you did! I can go with the kitten lied, that makes my mind very very happy! Happy writing to you and that the switch in times is effortless!
