Editing Mode -- Long Days

I like to read the book in as small as chunks as possible, so during editing -- rough, or copy edits, page proofs/author alterations -- I put in those 12-16 hour days. Everything (every fun bit, every mistake, every umpteenth repetition) stays fresh. The butt goes numb, there is much pacing.
